Weird & Wacky: Myx TV Debuts THE DOLL LIFE

There’s a new reality show that gives a glimpse into the world of Japanese street fashion. The Doll Life premieres tomorrow, Oct. 20 at 8/7c on Myx TV and will then be available for streaming online at www.myxtv.com on Wednesday, Oct. 21. Here’s the description…

“The Doll Life” is an exciting look at what happens behind-the-scenes at the Japanese street fashion brand, Dolldelight. Headed by designer Cyril Lumboy, Dolldelight specializes in the popular sub-culture of Japanese “Dolly Style” street fashion, otherwise known as “Lolita fashion.” From runway shows to pop-culture conventions, cameras follow Cyril and her models as they deal with the high-pressure and high-profile situations unique to the fashion industry, where catfights are common, resentments can build, and over-the-top outbursts are the norm. Each episode will feature a day in the life of Cyril and her models, as they navigate the complicated world of Lolita fashion and culture. The “living dolls” of the “The Doll Life” lead double lives; students, massage therapists, and restaurant servers by day, but on the weekends and during conventions they come alive as they let their alter egos shine on the catwalk. Over the course of the series, viewers get to know the personalities behind the dresses and will see the dramatic ups and downs of a business catering to this world-wide community of fans.
