Pivot’s THE OPERATIVES Explores Indonesian Environmental Threats

The Operatives, on Pivot (the cable/satellite TV network focusing on social advocacy), features eco-warrior Pete Bethune and his hand-picked team of military elite (including a former U.S. Navy SEAL, former U.S. Marine and former U.S. Reconnaissance Marine), as they travel to the furthest parts of the world to expose those suspected of endangering our wildlife and environment.

Here’s a look at this season’s episodes where Bethune explores some of the critical social and environmental issues of Indonesia, including the threat to endangered orangutans from deforestation. As an important side note, palm oil plantations are decimating Indonesian forests and plantation workers have been known to kill Orangutans by setting them on fire or hacking them to death with machetes. So check your food labels and go palm oil free (which means saying good bye to Girl Scout Cookies).

The Operatives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on Pivot.
