The CW has an intriguing new show premiering this month, The Messengers. OHSOGRAY attended the pilot screening at Wonder-Con 2015 and had a chance to talk with some of the actors and writers. JD Pardo (formerly of Revolution) portrays Raul Garcia, who is reluctantly working with federal agents in Mexico until a shocking turn of events. Anna Diop is Rose Arvale, whose fate will come into doubt within the pilot’s first few moments. They shared what to expect in season 1 and what they’re enjoying about their new characters.
Without giving too many details away, here’s a brief synopsis of the plot: “In the New Mexico desert, scientist Vera Ivanov watches in fascination as a mysterious object plummets to Earth and explodes, sending out a shock wave that briefly stops her heart. But Vera isn’t the only one affected: she’s instantly connected to four other strangers, who also collapse only to miraculously come back to life hours later. This group of strangers might be the only hope for preventing the impending Rapture…or causing it.”
The Messengers premieres April 17th 9/8c on The CW.
